Anyone had a slap at the Surge Casino tourneys?
Was spinning my favourite pokie last night and thought about chucking a few bucks at one of these Surge tourneys, so keen to hear from anyone who's had a proper slap at them. From what I can see they do take Aussies, which is already a plus in my book 🎰
Main thing I wanna know is whether the leaderboard actually pays decent prizes or if it's just a grind where you burn through your balance chasing points and finish mid-pack for nothing. Anyone finished top spots? Worth the deposit or skip it? 👀

This might be a dumb question 😅 but when Tassie says "wagering churn" for the leaderboard, does that mean you have to bet a set amount to move up, or is it points per spin no matter the size? Trying to work out if I'd burn through my deposit just climbing the ladder 🤔

Good question mate, no shame in asking. Churn just means the leaderboard counts how much you actually wager, so every spin you make racks up points whether you win, lose or go nowhere. Bet A$500 through a session and that's your score, simple as that. So a punter with a bigger bankroll or faster spin rate climbs quicker than someone betting sensible amounts, the tourney rewards volume, and the house takes its cut off every single spin along the way.
Say the grand prize is decent and you'd need to pump a few grand through to have a real shot, you're effectively paying for that shot in turnover, and most blokes burn their deposit long before they're anywhere near the top. That's what Tassie meant. My advice from years of watching these things: read how points are scored first, work out roughly what turnover you'd need, then decide if the prize pool actually justifies it. Half these comps are just churn dressed up as a freebie 😉

Tourney bonus wagering doesn't make the pokies colder, but it forces you to keep betting even when the session's dead, and that's where bankroll discipline gets tested. I set my bet per spin at 2% of what's left, that way a cold run doesn't wipe me before the bonus clears 😭
